Yes Virginia, I Have a PS3

Funny, but some people (including friends) don't believe I picked up a PS3. A couple of emails suggest I'm just saying I picked one up, and that it can't be that easy (it was). And some wonder why I picked one up at all?

Short answer - I've always said I'd get a PS3, and that I believe there will eventually be a couple of games (probably platform exclusives) that will eventually make it worth having (especially at a lower price). I don't think that time is now for most people - $600 is a lot of money to basically do nothing but play Resistance. But you have to remember that this is also part of my job, and keeping hands-on as the system evolves has value as well.

Should you read this as a recommendation? No, no, and no. The system is just not done. I can easily recommend the Wii, however. (But good luck finding one!)

And just for grins, here's my PS3 (you'll actually see two PS3s as the Japanese unit was still installed, but I'm down to just the US one now). You may have to click the image to see any details - black on black doesn't seem to pop as well as one might hope. Oh, and mind the security, aka "Mocha" (this is Seattle, after all.) Smile

This is clearly a fabrication. If nothing else, I know for a fact that Mocha does not equal "security." Offer to rub her belly, and she'll let you take anything you want.

MASSIVE FAIL, you shouldn't buy a PS3 till something good being released, such as DMC 4 or MGS4, otherwise the PS3 is useless.

Dang what a set you have there. Just two questions; why the 2 360's and are they both connected to the same TV?

Cool dog too, my mutt has something of a sheppard in it too (and a collie and a lab) but he's not suited for security duty.

I always thought the dev 360 were black so as to be easily distinguished.  Yours appears identical to a retail one?  You are one of the few people who can play system link via PiP.

To answer a few questions:

* The two 360s are because one is a devkit. It's a special sort of devkit called a "demokit" that looks like a retail console. Otherwise, you're right, the devkits are usually black and a tiny bit taller with a sidecar on top. They're both connected to the same TV - it has plenty of inputs.

* The TV is a Pioneer Elite 1120HD. Couple of years old, but with an awesome picture - not time to upgrade yet.

* I've watched parts of Blu-Ray movies - House of Flying Daggers and the bundled Nascar movie (can't remember name). Picture was pretty bad on both, but I've read they're also not good transfers. I'm still trying to research and understand what a "good" Blu-Ray movie might be - ideally, one I could compare H2H to HD-DVD.

* As to the coffee table, I have no idea. Some sort of russian roommate decoration. ;) Oh, and a bowl of walnuts and a ying/yang rock I picked up in China. You know, to throw at burglers. ;)

* I've played Resistance online. Played well - didn't see any hitches. My problem with Resistance online is that it's disconnected from the rest of the Sony network, friends, invites, etc. Frustrating experience, feels very 2002 or so.

Important questions. I talked to the Xbox Customer Care line and wanted to retrieve a old Xbox1 tag but they say there is no way to get it back. The tag ended in 2005 but I can tell that no one has currently has it. Please tell me that there is a way to get the tag back. This is for Ozy or anyone who knows how to do this. Thanks

This is because all expired tags are currently unavailable. Moral of the story, don't let your account expire. ;)

Seriously, though, at some point I'm sure the Live team will go through and clean up the database and make all of those expired tags available for selection. No idea when that might be though.

The only reason I can imagine to keep expired tags around, is to prevent people from recreating that tag, and impersonating a player. However, a previous owner should be able to get their old account back.

I wouldn't want to pay X dollars just to keep my account, even though I don't use it.

Out of curiosity, does your TV not seem a little bit high? Based on the angle of the picture it seems like you don't have a higher than normal couch. But your TV seems like it sits too high to be comfortable.

They should create seperate versions of all consoles that you can mount in 19" racks. I don't like having all these non standard sizes around where each needs their own space. If they were available in racks, you could make a cabinet with a small rack and you could neatly store them all away. That only leaves the problem of all those controllers. Though I suppose now they are all wireless, so that removes the problem of cables. (Although I prefer cabled, because I hate using batteries)
