Xbox LIVE Four Brothers Commercial

Been doing a lot of work on future platform planning and was having a conversation with a co-worker about our "Live Anywhere" initiative. Although there are a lot of different aspects of Live Anywhere that excite me, one of the areas I've been doing a lot of thinking around is the "life gets in the way" aspect of gaming. You get older, get into relationships, get married, have kids - the list goes on and on. And every one of those layers makes it challenging to continue playing.

Anyway, I was telling that co-worker about a great video we did back in the early days of Xbox Live that really captured this aspect. Amusingly, it was easier for me to go find on YouTube rather than internally, so I figured I'd share it with you while I had the link. Hope you like it!

Very interesting.. I have been through the marriage and kids stages when any quality gaming time was a rarity. Now i live with just my understanding girlfriend and my very own 360 console. I have all the time in the world to enjoy fully my gaming addiction. Unfortunately, time has passed and , even at the age of 43, i constanly feel that the majority of players ( on xbox 360 anyway)are from another generation below me! Not only because my generation have children and mortgages to take care of but also because they have decided to "grow up and be responsible epople" !

You will find all the older gamers with real lives you want. You will be able to find people (that you like) to play with no matter what game interests you.

Its easy to start up a game and get randomly matched with a younger generation. I have been there and been frustrated. I promiss that you don't have to feel that way.

No kidding. Between my professional career and personal life I'm tied up for about 14 hours a day. Add to that the mandatory 6-8 hours of sleep, and that leaves 2 hours each night reserved for spending time with my wife  or being selfish playing games with myself.

Even on weekends, I probably find two or three hours where I have no other commitments, and usually those aren't even sequential hours which would allow me to play uninterrupted.

No wonder I play so many XBLA titles...

I have a wife, full time job, etc. etc. and although I dont find the time to play like I used to I have the benefit of a 12 year old son whom I get on the weekends and we game all day Saturday while my wife is at work which works out nice.

Thats exciting news I heard today about the new/updated XBox HD-DVD drive in 2008.  If I could just pass along a suggestion.  Please make the unit look more integrated with the XBox 360 console design when its resting on top the XBox console.  The gray doesn't work for me with the XBox 360 faceplate.  Thanks

I used to have to work out of state, and on my days off I would play Halo2 on Live with my oldest son.  I met a couple of other parents who played with their teenage kids that way, and still think that's pretty cool.  I recently met another guy (playing CoD4 beta) who also plays, and has two teenage kids who play.
